From Yooper Patriot posted to google maps for M28 Towing and Recovery
I’ve not needed this service yet, but M28 Towing and Recovery is who I will call if I do. Yesterday, 16 October 2022 M28 (Cal) was dispatched for a ‘tow’ an hour away near Newberry. It turned out to be a rescue and recovery, not a tow. The vehicle was 30 minutes off-the-road on a two-track stuck in mud. The call started at 2 pm. When he finally located the jeep nobody was there and no keys to start the recovery. He needed to use a wench to pull the jeep up a hill after it was pulled from mud. This jeep was not equipped for mudding. Anyway, long story short, he worked at getting that vehicle out for 7 hours due to owner not being with the jeep when he finally found it. At any point he could have left, but he stayed with this rescue so they wouldn’t be stuck in the ‘middle of nowhere’. Through this process he missed two other tows because of the time involved in this rescue and was not compensated for the extra time involved. So know this, if you need help, M28 Towing and Recovery is who to call because they will not abandon you no matter how difficult the recovery is, and please if you are in that situation and need help, stay with your vehicle, or at least leave the keys because the time could have been greatly reduced if he didn’t have to wait for keys to come to begin the recovery, and more importantly don’t try to take a vehicle with ‘street tires’ off-road mudding. I have first-hand knowledge of this rescue and feel he deserves special recognition for it. Thank you for reading!
